Schooner Welcome

We got invited to go out on this beautiful sail boat the day after Thanksgiving by the owners, Pamela & Peter Ovens - members of the church. We had a great time and Will even got to steer the boat! He seemed like a natural. This boat is actually for sale (sail?!) for a mere $250,000!! You can buy it on EBAY! It's 62' all wood Concordia yacht - anybody want to buy it?!

The sad part about our trip is that we think we may have lost our camera overboard! Peter gave us a disposible camera to use, so we will have some pictures when we get the film developed. I pulled these shots from their website so you can at least see.

Missed Everyone This Week!

This Thanksgiving was the roughest for us! We missed everyone and wished we were able to be with family and friends. William fully realized the distance and that we won't be able to see everyone as much as we used to. He seemed pretty sad but in a way I am glad to see that because when we left, he was didn't seem to understand or care that we would be so far away. Now he knows and he is appreciative of his family more.

Yet Another River in Bluffton

We went to the Colleton River today - very pretty, close to us and I had no idea it was there!

Beach Day again

Went for a walk at the beach again today. I wanted to show Will the Horseshoe crabs, but they were all gone! Either people took them, or the birds got them!
Seemed odd to see quite a few people in the water...but the water was warm and Will ended up getting pretty wet and sandy (not laura-y).

A Cold, Foggy Morning

There was lots of frost on the grass this morning when Will went out to get the paper (in Daddy's shoes).

Faces of Missing His Family

Will has really been missing California, his family and friends and most especially, his cousin, Emily. He had been waiting to talk to her and was disappointed when she wasn't there.

Hi Hannah!!!

On The Boardwalk

I enjoy the boardwalk entry to Folly Field Beach Park. It is surrounded by trees, water and, during the summer, the haunting sounds of Cicadas.

Emily and Kelly went to this beach with me when they were here, and I think they enjoyed it very much.

Helping Out

I took a picture for a couple on the beach (that's them in the bottom), and he took my picture!

Fall Day at the Beach

Went for a walk on the beach today and it was very peaceful. The water is so calm and still quite warm - warmer than the air!

Driving into Hidden Lakes

Hidden Lakes is the name of our complex...lots of small lakes all around...most of them are quite visible...don't know why they are called Hidden!

Views from Shelter Cove Park

I walked a few feet from the bouncers at the park today and these were the views! I am still amazed at the beautiful scenery here.

From the Oyster Festival

Today we went to the Oyster Festival at one of the many parks on the island. Our church had a number of volunteers selling tickets, etc. and we will be able to earn about $1000 for the church.

Will spent almost 2 hours playing on the 3 jumpers they had - lots of excercise!!

Emily And Tanner

Enjoying the LA Zoo!! Emily looks too cool! When I was showing Will the pictures, he was waving at them!! He sure misses his cousins. Even though with Tanner he still wants to be called an 'uncle'!!

The Dog and The Cat

Last week for the children's story at church, Tom and William collaborated and wrote a book which they called "The Dog and The Cat." Will drew the pictures, came up with the title and named the characters, while Daddy wrote the text. (You can enlarge the pictures by clicking on them and you can read it more clearly!)

The sermon was about allowing creatures to love whom they love as well as Prop. 1 which would ban same sex marriages. Unfortunately, that passed by 86% of the vote. I still have to remind myself that I live in a very conservative area.

While Tom reads the story, the kids go to the stage to hear it. Will was very animated as always, but he was also quite proud being up there for this particular story. A cool thing too, was that a teacher from Will's school was a guest for the service, so it made William (and his parents) feel especially proud!

Can You Believe Tanner is already One Year Old?

My niece Amy sent these pictures of Tanner at his B-Day party and also from Halloween! He's so cute...and he's gotten so big!
We were sorry that we weren't able to be there for his birthday party!

Contemplating the Future

I have good news...(no, I'm not pregnant)! I got another job offer today. This is one that I think will be very good for me. It is for a 'Financial Specialist' position with Wachovia Bank. I actually put that title on my blog bio even before I got the job! I guess I was pretty sure that would be my job, huh? I start work on 11/27 so I have a couple of more weeks off!

They will invest a lot of money and time in me to get my licenses and trained for the position. I'm really excited about the opportunity. It has a very good starting salary and full benefits start in January. I'm very happy about it!

I will need to get myself some new clothes...back to business suits again after all this time! Dang, that means I'll have to go shopping! Bummer. You all know how I hate to do that!!!

Will is getting better with the camera!

One of the many lagoons in our sub division

We pass by this little lagoon everyday. It is basically in the backyard of the people who live across the street from us - and right by where Will's bus stop is.

Hi Right Back At You Hannah!!!!

Will & Mom

At school, Will is learning about measurements so he has this tape measure he keeps with him and is always trying to see how much things 'weigh'. We're still working on that with him!

One of the pictures, he's checking out my necklace.

I have always shied away from having my picture taken, because I don't like how I look in them, but lately I've decided that I want more pictures with my family...and that I will share them, even when I don't particularly like them...so here you go!!!

Go Rams!! (Sorry Ron...Dad Told Me To)!!!!

Will has been wearing this cap for the last 3 days - even wears it to bed...see he's in his pajamas?

Will tries his hand at the camera!!

Progress is being made on the church

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Does that mean I still have to give my candy to Grandpa for his birthday?!
Hope you had a great day Grandpa, but I don't think the candy will still be good if I mail it to you!

See how red my eyes are? I guess I drank too much blood, bwaahaaahaa!!
