This Morning's Sunrise

I thought things were clearing up, but about an hour after I took these pictures, it was pouring again - for at least an hour or two.

We've had quite a bit of rain recently. I had been hoping that Fay would come our way, but after experiencing just being on the outer bands of it, I am thankful that it didn't come all the way to us. We still got about 6 inches of rain over two days. I couldn't imaging having 24 inches! We would have all been flooded!

Butterfly in the Garden this Morning

This butterfly didn't want to stick around too long for me to photograph....too bad, because it was beautiful.

Will's New Haircut

Tom and Will got their hair cut today...I was kind of suprised when he came in - I wasn't expecting it to be so short, but he likes it and so do I!

Lowcountry Images

I took these on a drive over to Beaufort back in May...just came across them and I don't think I'd posted them before. Thought you'd like them, too.

Love This Picture of Will

I caught him sleeping the other day and of course I took a few pics of him...this is my favorite!

Amy Junior!!!!

At the Airport

I know this was hard for all of them. Will was trying to avoid the situation and emersed himself into his video game - everyone has a coping system.

In Atlanta

Since Atlanta is about 4 hours away from us, they went up on Sunday and spent the night so they would be fresh for the real travel day. Of course, where they stayed had to have a pool.

Saying Goodbye to Emily

I behind on posting...these were taken on 7/27 right before Tom, Will and Emily left for Atlanta...her flight left the next day. This was a sad time for all of us.

Emily made friends with Kendra from across the street - Kendra just turned 10 and she misses Em, too!

Talking to BerBer & Grandpa Tonight

Will spent some time on the phone with Grandpa and Berber. Sorry that Grandma wasn't available :-( He got out of the shower and was getting ready for bed and we thought this was a good time to call!

What I see When...

I drive home from work. The commute to work is about 15-20 minutes with no traffic and 40 - 1 hour with an accident on the bridge. For the most part it is pretty smooth sailing. I took these shots while I was coming home the other day. I like how the water comes up almost even with the road when the tide is in. I know Mom wouldn't like this, but I enjoy the beauty of it. I wish there was an observation area by the bridge so I can get some better shots, but these will have to do! There are also those special days when I get to see the dolphins jumping as I'm going to work. That makes me glad that I live here!!! I wish some of you guys could come out to see where we live!

Back to Work

Here's a picture of my office. I have a large corner office with a window!

Does that make my job seem important? I don't know, but I do like my office!

I enjoyed my field trip and think I will do that more often. That way when I get back (especially on crazy busy Friday's & Monday's) hopefully I won't be so stressed! However, when I got back yesterday I only really wanted to take a nap!!

Field Trip

For lunch yesterday I decided to go to this park I discovered last week. It's only 5-10 minutes from my office, so I went there to have lunch and then a look around. I find it very beautiful and peaceful there. While I was having lunch a dad and his son arrived with their fishing poles and headed down to the marsh.

The marsh is typical Lowcountry. When I got down to the observation site and really looked at the ground I was amazed to see everything moving. It was low tide and all the hermit crabs were very busy moving around and living their lives. I took some pictures of them but I don't think you can make them out very easily.

More Trees

I enjoyed my little getaway from work. I usually just go to a near by parking lot to have my lunch, but this area, I think you will agree, is much prettier!
The only problem was I didn't want to go back to work!

I LOVE all the beautiful trees here in the Lowcountry...and the Spanish Moss that lives on them!
