Beautiful Trees

I haven't posted any of my favorite trees in a while. I took a drive a couple weekends ago and took some pics of what I think are amazing trees.

No, I Didn't quite get it!

I think my drawing ended up looking more like Roseanne than Mom! I haven't gotten the angle right - when the head is tilted down and to the side, it's harder to get it right. I just wasn't on tonight! Oh well! I love this picture of Mom though. I think this was taken the same time as the one of Sandy and Billy - at one of our many get togethers. That sure was fun - I miss those times :-)

Drawing Tom

I took this picture of Tom on his birthday in 2000. 37 years old! I have this picture in a frame on my desk and I've always liked this one. Thought I'd give it a try. Tom came home while I had just started. I had the outline for the hair, but I wasn't done yet. He said 'I don't have Elvis hair!" I didn't think he did - I just wasn't finished yet!!

Old photos of Will

The four photos on the outside were taken on the same day when he was at daycare. The other two were taken at different times. He was going through the 'fake smile' phase. No matter what we did when we were taking his picture, we couldn't get him to just give a real smile. I just love these - they make me smile for real!!

I have so many favorites from when he was a baby! I don't think a lot of people have seen before. I'm having fun trying to draw him :-)

Trying again With Mom

I reworked the one of Mom I did a couple of days ago. The other one was inspired from a picture of Mom holding Ronny when he was a tiny, tiny baby! She was clearly tired and truly beautiful!

MaMa Jen

I tried doing a sketch of my beautiful niece, MaMa Jen...I'm really happy with this one - I think I captured her a bit. Hope you like it MaMa Jen!!

I did this sketch of Mom tonight. The inspiration came from a photo I posted quite a while ago - we were back in Oklahoma and we were all sitting on the couch. It was fun drawing this and I hope you like it Mom! I love you Valentine!

Drawing Daniel

I felt the urge to try sketching Daniel tonight. The inspiration was taken from Daniel's Caring Bridge page where he is holding his snake, Lightbulb. I couldn't draw that so I just improvised!

Haven't Tried Anything For a While...

So I tried this one of Linda Evangelista from an ad in a magazine. Trouble with the nose & eye. But I think this is getting me back into it!

Field Trip to Beaufort Today - The Beaufort Inn

We went on a photo shoot in Beaufort today. It's about 35 minutes away - north of the Broad River. Here they always separate 'North of the Broad' - NOBs and South of the Broad - SOBs for those living in Bluffton & Hilton Head. So I am an SOB!!!

We had a nice time. The weather was MUCH warmer today - it got to almost 70 instead of the high 40s that it was yesterday. I am bombarding you with photos, but I had fun and I had some time to post them, so that's what I did!

The pictures above are of the Beaufort Inn. Three years ago this weekend, Tom and I were here for the first time for the pre-candidating weekend. Tom did a sermon at the Beaufort Congregation and then afterward the search committee brought us to have brunch here at this restaurant. It is a very beautiful, very old building and I was very impressed with the area. We didn't even realize that this was the anniversary weekend - but we had made plans to come here today to walk around. Synchronicity? Maybe.

A Great Run Down House

I think I will save this one to use when I get into drawing structures. I thought this place was so beautiful.

The Bridge and the Salty Dog

I believe this is called the McTeer Bridge, but I'm not positive. I had never seen it open before, but while we were there it did open for a sail boat to cross. When the boat got closer to us I noticed a dog that was going sailing!! He looked quite proud! A real 'Salty Dog' for sure!!!

The Rhett House

Drive by photos. I just couldn't stop myself!!! It's so beautiful down there. I will go back when I get more time!

This is a magnificent house that sits directly across from the water...I'm sure it's seen a lot of history.
