Thinking About Grandpa

Tomorrow marks the 7th anniversary of Grandpa Gordon's death. I miss him. I was looking for a picture so I could draw him and I found one of my favorites of Grandma & Grandpa. What's strange is that it was taken on March 16th, 1986. I figured that was the one I was meant to draw! I also found an older one of the two of them - it was taken on February 3, 1976. I think I've gotten better since the first time I tried to draw them!!!! But, I think Grandma ended up looking more like Aunt Ina than herself. Oh, well...I'm trying!

On my desk I have the 'Work is just something I do between fishing trips.' cup. It reminds me of Dad and Grandpa. When I was in CA in July I went with Dad to see Grandma. He was asking Chris if he left that cup there - he wanted it back because it was his Dad's cup and it was important to him to have it. That's how I felt when I saw that cup - it was the last cup he used. I am very thankful that I have that cup and I will take good care of it and treasure it!
