We got to see an Alligator and a Deer

In the top picture you can see the kids looking at the alligator in the water. We were quite safe!!

Lartigue Cemetery

We saw this small cemetery not too far from the camp site. Interesting to see the Confederate flag flying. There is also the emblem for the Confederate States of America on the grave next to the flag. I've always been intrigued with old cemeteries. Cemeteries and feet. Does that make me weird? Hmmmm...I wonder.

The 'Beetle' and the Spider

While we were making S'mores Will and I noticed a beetle or a cockroach crawling through the leaves - I decided to take a picture of it and was surprised at the result. When the picture came out it showed that the bug was being attacked by this large spider!!! It was amazing...neither Will nor I ever saw the spider until the photo came out. We caught a few pics of this and then decided to let nature have it's way. It was a very large spider, that's for sure. Kind of gave me the creeps - and the crawlies!

We never did see any alligators right by the cabin or in the lakes in the campground. But when we went for a drive to another lake, we saw one - we'll show it to you!!
